Great holiday in Kokand
Today, the sun shines more brightly. Foreign guests with flags of their countries, craftsmen and local residents with flags of Uzbekistan began a solemn parade in the early morning.
Artisans’ town, located on Khudoyorkhon Urdasi Square, has been completely transformed. Folk festivals, puppet and folk groups’ shows, equilibrists’ performances, as well as concert program prepared by regional culture departments are being held.
After the parade, all participants will gather for the presentation of the book by the President of the World Crafts Council-Asia Pacific Region (WCC-APR) Ghada Hijjawi-Qaddumi.
Today, talented masters will hold master classes and trainings for participants wishing to make applied arts objects with their hands. The event will be attended by representatives of Rishtan, Gijduvan, Urgut, Tashkent, Kattabog, Madira, Samarkand, Andijan, Gurumsaray, Shakhrisabz Pottery Schools and artisans’ town on Khudoyorkhon Urdasi Square.
Participants will visit the ancient and modern sights of Fergana, in particular Margilan, Craftsmen Centre in Said Akhmadkhoji Madrasah, enterprise for production of monuments, as well as engraver workshops on metal of Abdulkhamid Madaliyev and weavers Rasuljon Mirzakhmedov and Abdunabi Toshtemirov.
Pilaf competition will also be held for festival participants.
