International experts discuss freedom of speech and press in Uzbekistan

Samarkand hosted a roundtable discussion on mass media freedom issues in Uzbekistan.

The event, organized at the initiative of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was attended by representatives of state bodies and mass media, journalists and bloggers, Permanent Representatives of the OSCE Participating States to Vienna.

Reports of Director General of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications K. Allamjonov, Deputy General Director of the Agency S. Mirziyoyeva were heard at the event.

Participants expressed their views on the theme of the event and forwarded proposals.
