Efficiency of reforms will contribute to economic stability and increase the well-being of the people
On November 20, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the IT Park in Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent.
The IT Park is organized by the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan and Software Technology Parks of India under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology within the framework of implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the Head of the state to this country in 2018.
Measures for organizing the activities of the IT Park are identified by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan of January 10, 2019, its directorate has been created. In July this year, the first complex was put into operation in the allotted territory.

There are incubation and acceleration programs to support promising startup projects in the innovative town, all amenities are created for specialists. Currently, the first projects are being implemented in areas such as information technologies, financial technologies, e-commerce, e-education, biotechnology.
For example, outsourcing provides technological services to transport companies, cafes and pizzerias operating in the United States. IT Park’s services attract the attention of foreign customers due to the availability and high quality.
“The sustainability of our economy, the quality and effective work of all areas, the convenience of life of the population depend on information technologies. Therefore, it is necessary to create even greater opportunities for this area, the necessary infrastructure, stimulate specialists, educate capable youth”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Enterprises registered as residents of the IT Park are exempted from paying taxes and customs duties until January 1, 2028. This, being a great help for specialists in the field, strengthens interest in the technology park. In a short time, the number of its residents exceeded 300.
In the future, it is planned to expand the conditions for participants by building IT offices, a business center, a hotel and other facilities on seven lots on the territory of the IT Park.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid the symbolic first stone for the IT Park’s new stage construction.
It is planned that the annual volume of production produced here will exceed 10 million USD in 2020 and reach 100 million USD in 2025. The total project cost is 150 million USD.
“Today, Uzbekistan declares itself in all areas. Our timely attention to information technologies gives good results. One software product is already a great help to the state, for eradicating corruption, red tape, and creating amenities for people. Remember, your work is very important”, the President said.

On November 20, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange of Uzbekistan at Uzexpocentre.
The event, organized in accordance with the resolution of the Head of the state “On measures for further development of industrial cooperation and expansion of production of sought-after products” of May 1, 2019, continues from November 18. Here, about a thousand enterprises, companies and firms, small businesses and private entrepreneurship represent more than 10 thousand products.
Participants are becoming acquainted with export-oriented and import-substituting products of industrial enterprises, their quality and technical characteristics, wholesale and retail prices, enterprise capacity and other information. This is an important factor in the study of products that are in demand on the domestic and foreign markets, the search for partners for production and procurement, and the wide involvement of small business in the industrial sector.
The President got acquainted with goods presented at the fair, became interested in sales and the level of localization. The Head of the state noted the need for expanding localization, mastering the production of imported parts, increasing the number of customers by ensuring quality.
“When will the manufacturer develop? When his products are bought. Every enterprise and every entrepreneur who came to the fair must leave with a certain result, all goods – from a regular nut to large machines – must find their customer. The exhibition should be useful for each participant”, the Head of the state said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev was also provided with information on the e-cooperation exchange portal created under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and Industry – www.cooperation.uz.
This portal will help manufacturers find buyers, conclude contracts for the supply of products. The portal is connected to databases of customs, tax services, statistics and certification departments.
Agreements between industrial enterprises and customers are concluded online. The International Trade Center hosts presentations on the production potential of industries, regions, small business and private entrepreneurship, and proposals for cooperation.

On November 20, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Center for Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan.
This complex, founded at the initiative of the Head of the state, will become the embodiment of the enormous heritage of our people, their enormous contribution to development of science and education.
“Each person cherishes his past. But such a rich history as our country, such great scientists as our ancestors, is nowhere else. We must deeply study this heritage, reveal it to people, the world. It is necessary to achieve that the person who came to the center receives a complete idea of our history, is spiritually enriched”, noted Shavkat Mirziyoyev during one of the previous visits to the complex.
These goals are taken as the main criterion for construction and establishment of the center’s activity. On an area of almost two hectares, a magnificent three-story building was erected. In the symmetrical heart of the building, a grand oriental-style dome was erected, on four sides – portals 34 meters high each.
In accordance with the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of June 23, 2017, a scientific and historical concept was developed to emphasize that Uzbekistan for centuries has been an integral part of world civilization and one of the centers of Islamic culture.
A museum warehouse, rooms for storage and restoration of ancient manuscripts and objects, a printing house and bookstores will be located on the ground floor of the building.
The second floor will have a huge foyer with Quran of Uthman in the center. It will also house the Museum of Islamic Art and a conference hall with 435 seats. Thematic exhibitions of historical sources and exhibits will be organized for each period and outstanding personalities in the history of Uzbekistan.
A library with a fund of up to 100 thousand manuscripts, an information and resource center, scientific departments and administrative premises will be located on the third floor.
As the President noted, the Center for Islamic Civilization will become the fundamental basis for scientific institutions of this profile. Domestic and foreign specialists will be engaged in scientific research, encyclopedias, popular science collections will be published based on the results of their activities, television programs, films, and other materials will be prepared. This complex will become a place of strengthening knowledge for teachers and students of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan.
“This center will serve our people for centuries, each of its patterns will become part of history. Therefore, its design, content should be thoroughly thought out both from the Islamic and scientific points of view. It is necessary to create not only a comfortable environment for acquiring knowledge, but also an atmosphere that would excite the hearts”, the Head of the state said.
The need for organizing an international conference with participation of religious figures, Islamic scholars and historians from around the world, the study of their opinions and development of proposals was noted.
